Guest topshot_2k
Looking into buying some RC4/RC3 game cartridges as my mate got a bulk buy, what are they like for recoil/hitting power and **** up the barrels? (they will be used for pigeons/crows/rabbits) Also are the victory challenger 28g clay loads any good?

Mr Potter
The perceived recoil from the RCs will depend entirely on the weight of the gun you are firing them from. If it's a 61/2lb game gun they will thump but if it's a 9 lb clay gun shouldn't be much of a problem. I've only used RC 20 bore game carts and they didn't appear to "sooty" up the barrels but I don't get the hang up about dirty barrels, if you're going to clean the gun anyway what difference does it make? I have used Victory Challengers in the past and probably still would be doing so if the price was right, a good cartridge in my opinion, certainly not as sharp on the shoulder as the Sonics. Why not borrow or buy a couple of boxes from your mate before committing to a big purchase, one mans soft shooting is another mans bruised shoulder! pair away
i have never used the rc game loads but i used to use victory clay loads all the time untill their price went stupid , they are a good shell and you should have not problems with them . Imperfection
I've been using the RC 32g 6's in fibre and they do the job alright on pigeons. They tend to be a dirty cartridge and leave a fair bit of muck in the barrels which i can live with cos of the price i paid.Curiously though-they have an odd smell when fired!
