i have an s510 and think its a nice rifle, very accurate and if you add a silencer to the shrouded barrel its very quiet too, never owned an s410 and never heard anything bad about them either....so as the others have said its just what you like oh mines a 177 too

thats ok then cause when you look diferent places it is called diferent things

510 sl and 510 carbine

has any one on here used it with a silencer ? is it worth fitting or do you recon its quiet enough with out?

cheers

The gun is called the ''AirArms S510 SL carbine'' hence the different abbreviated names you keep coming across.

OOOH!

They are loud without a silencer. For hunting you need one unless you want to scare everything away each shot.

I have a standard AA silencer on my S410 and it's OK.

Carbon

The 510 is quiet and you dont need the extra silencer

I have a .177 s410 classic, carbine just the same but with a smaller air capacity therefore elss shots, but lighter. I also have a weihrauch hw100. Just to confuse you, the s410 is fantastic, accurate quiet etc so would thoroughly reccomend this one. However if I was going again, with my experiences of both, and had to pick between an s410, s510sl and the hw100 carbine there would be no contest......Hw all the way. Better made, it is literally whisper quiet, better balanced, 14 shot, two mags with it, walnut as standard etc etc... Sorry but just my opinion..
