hodge911
well time is flying by jess is now 5mnths old and doin good at the basics so when the keeper i,ve been beating for invited me to go on a vermin day on the estate i decided to take her along for a look see . when we got there the others were already there with thier dogs out and messing around on the green . on letting her out out she had her usual nutty run around and trying to get someone to puppy play with but she soon settled down . as she has not been out with guns yet i decided to leave her in the jeep while we went to furthest part of the estate and work our way back towards the vehicles so the shots weren,t loud at first but did get slightly louder as we got closer. got back to the jeep for lunch let her out for her lunch and toilet . the lads put thier dogs away for lunch so as it was quiet i let her back out for a run around . someone had left a pigeon on the step of the keepers house and jess got her eye on it after a few seconds of sniffing and nudgeing it to my joy she picked it up and trotted back to me with it with a look on her face to say as much as look what i got . it took a little while to get it off her but she did give it to me once she had showed a couple of the lads what she had . considering that was the first quarry she has seen i was more than pleased with her forgot to say while she was prancing round proud as punch with herself and her mouthfull of pigeon one the lads rattled a shot off about a 50/60 yds away and she never budged. have a short vid on my phone will put it on once i can figure out how to . lurcherboy
Looks like you have a natural on your hands Hodge. Don't be to quick to get it from the dog as there will be plenty of time that later on. LB
