It won't be too long now mate. They have already started cooing at each other so they will soon be pairing up ready to mate.

 

Give it another few weeks and those huge flocks will start to break up.

 

It's a bloody nightmare round here - there's one flock on my permission, and that's it, but it's massive. I get a couple of shots then they vanish for a couple of hours, often longer!

 

Roll on the Spring :whistling:

If they all come down in a big flock, it's advisable to shoot them when they fly away and there's a couple of late leavers, as you'll teach the pigeons not to come near a spinning magnet. Especially as they rarely split from a large flock, so you'll not see that flock anywhere near you for the rest of the day.

as the days get longer and a bit warmer the pigeons urge to pair will increase and the big flocks will start to split, this is when you will may be able to get at them a bit better, late winter decoying is really frustrating just stick with it and you will get a result sooner or later
