Fisherman Mike
I cant believe it is almost a year since SR came storming up the hill at Cheltenham only to fail by a length or so to catch Best Mate. Although he has a had a dissapointing season his trainer Robert Alner has always held him in very high regard and he is reputed to be a spring horse, that is a horse which shows his best form after winter in March or April. I have been told that he is very very well and will take his chance in the Gold Cup. Infact Alners other horse Kingscliff which is one of the favourites is posing a difficult decision for the stable jockey Andrew Thornton... I should imagine he will ride Kingscliffe but we shall see. SR is any price you like as he was last year and Horses often run well at the Festival if they have done before. I would definately not write this horse off. On the subject of tips for the festival, well who knows, all the horses in every race are there on merit and expected to run up to their best form, However I can pass on a very strong tip for Tom Georges Horse, Lord of Illusion. It will be a major dissapointment if this horse does not win the Sun Alliance Novice Chase. There have been some serious bets struck on this Horse in recent weeks. I have also been watching Jonjo O'Neils stable at Jackdaws Castle near Stow on the Wold very closely. He was blighted by a virus this season and shut down completely for several months. His horses are now working seriously again and are coming to hand at the right time. A friend and I watched some of his horses working recently and they were really putting it in. Specular ridden by his retained Jocky A.P.Mcoy won this afternoon. Keep an eye out for anything that Jonjo runs at Cheltenham, ridden by A.P.Mcoy, particularly if it is carrying the green and gold hooped colours of the yards owner the Legendary and Fearless Punter J.P. Mcmanus. he has invested heavily in Jackdaws Castle and I am sure he will be looking for a return on his investment at the Festival. If I get any strong information I will Post it up on the Site. Good Luck. FM.
