dazlindazza
I've been shooting for about 8 months, and just by coincidence have always ended up buying 65mm carts. I have just brought some other carts that are 70mm long, which has got me wondering whether my baikal SxS will take the longer ones? The chamber looks long enough, as the cartridge fits in ok, and I can see by holding the cart outside the barrel to check the length of the chamber that there's room for the cart + some to spair. Also, When I take the barrel off the stock, on the underside it says "12 70 18,2 F(1,0) 65MPa" on one of the barrels and on the other it says "12 70 18,2 M(0,5)". Now I have no idea what most of that means, but does the "70" mean it's chambered for the longer carts? Any help appreciated. Cheers
dustyfox
Not an expert but I guess the 12 means the bore and the 70 means the length of chamber. Somebody will come and tell you.
mikee
the 65mpa is the safe pressure limmit 65 mega pascals = 650 bar, the 0.5 and 1.0 are 1/2 and full choke, 18,2mm diameter bore mikee
clayman
The markings indicate your gun iis a standard 2 3/4" or 70mm chamber. Shorter, 67 or 65mm are fine, just dont use magnum 3" or bigger loads!
