my dad got me some new permish..so went to see the bloke last nite..he was a really nice bloke and we hit it off and had a lamp around..the problem was he just kept saying i could go anywere i wanted up to the surrounding road.that was barely visible in the distance..so a fair bit of land!!! we got no bother from any one whilst we were avin a look..but the trouble is this.... i know this is a shoot,so the 1st time i go wi the shotty am half expectin some angry keepers or the law to turn up!!! he said go anytime i want..so i said ad go this weekend!!!! wot do i do?:good:

I would find out who the keeper is, introduce your self, tell him what you want to shoot and when, bear in mind the shooting season, and the fact you are conscious that he has a shoot to run and look after, and even offer to help him, offer him your beating services during the season, and keep him happy!

 

That way he will be no bother to you.

Ask him for the gamekeepers phone number or address so you can tell him when you're going up there.I wouldnt worry too much about the Police though-provided your there with the farmers blessing its fine,but might help if you have it in writing (permission slip).

 

I always pop round the gamekeepers where i shoot as his house backs onto the land.

stay well away from the pheasants (apart from being out of season) he will be counting them for next season.... I would check also about the hares, they might be part of the game shoot!

you have to think about the guys on the syndicate paying to shoot this land.. they will be a bit hacked off if some none paying guy is going around shooting the birds/hares they have paid for!
