sambu13
Firstly i appologise if this is a commonly asked question, Ive had a SGC for several months and im 21, i have been thinking about getting a .22rf or .17hmr for rabbits and crows as on the land i shoot over they have become very shy. my question is, is it ok for me to start the application now even if i might not get a gun for a few months yet (if i was granted a cert), also i shoot on my uncles land on two patches in particular, one is on the home farm its quite large but there is a footpath running along one side, the other piece is a bank with a plateau and woody bits but it runs along side a main road and has a cottage at one end and a childs playground! would i be granted a FAC for these areas (i appreciate that the descriptions are very vauge). sorry for the vaugeness lol cheers sambu
triscrx
I cant see why you cant start the process now mate. When the FAC comes back if they grant it it will have the .22/.17HMR on there available to buy, so when your ready you can go out and buy one as you will have the slot there on your ticket. Ref the land you want to shoot get the land permission forms filled in now in preperation and ask your local force to inspect them, they will decide if the land is suitable for what you have in mind, hope this answers your questions

markbivvy
the other piece is a bank with a plateau and woody bits but it runs along side a main road and has a cottage at one end and a childs playground! would i be granted a FAC for these areas to be honest unless you are desperate for shooting permission, i would not ask them to look at this one. one place i wont go near with a gun is schools. before the kick of i know it says play ground not school.
