Cranfield
Just a piece of information that potential customers might not know. They charge a "range Fee" of £2.00, but if you are a member of BASC it is waived. I found this out when I shot there on Thursday afternoon (having not been there for a few years). The facilities are even better than before and the "cube" system is a great idea. This has still got to be the best clay shooting facility in Kent. Cranfield
I don't know what its official name is, but when you go out for a round of clays you take a "cube", this is slotted in to any stand you visit and records the clays you use. You are then charged per clay. The great advantage is that you can have as many, or as few clays per stand as you wish, rather than the usual 8 or 10 clays per stand. You are also your own "trapper". Bigweed
This has still got to be the best clay shooting facility in Kent. Just a shame it ain't open weekends Edited March 7, 2009 by Bigweed
jonnyoftheboy
claymate is a good system for when you shoot on your own, as I often did last 1/4 of last year. I have also found that west kent.... of all the grounds I've been to..... throws the least "no birds". How did you get on cranfield? & when were you up there? Cranfield
webber, I formulate my own opinions of things and thought it was an excellent gadget, but then I am not a serious clay shooter, I just go to enjoy myself with a few friends. jonnyoftheboy, as I mentioned we were there on Thursday afternoon and as usual my shooting drew gasps from any onlookers. I will leave you to guess why they did that.
