Using my digital camera i was able to take a photo of a photo! taken many seasons ago, on the first and only time i went grouse shooting. We managed to shoot 8 on the day between 6 guns as we walked for miles along the moors in scotland. I always got assigned to go on the far flank, so did the most walking as well, but I enjoyed every minute of it! I shot the two grouse I am pictured with here, not a right and left unfortunately!

Teal,

so you have been in this game for a while then. What Grouse moor were you shooting on that day?

Your a lucky chap to get a Grouse shoot at that age, I'm still waiting even though I only live two miles from them, but I haven't give up hope yet.

Good one to show the kids later in life.

Well done.

Murrayton in Dumfries and Galloway. Here's my (unedited) writeup for the day- 12th August- "We started by doing a load of heather by a lake it was succesful because Robert _ got 1 out of a covey of 7 we then walked a long way before turning round and doing a bit higher up. A grouse got up and just as it was in front of me Robert _ shot it, but I didn't mind as a bit later on a grouse got up and I shot it amazing my 1st grouse. Later on Ed _ put up a grouse right in front of me and I missed with with the first barrel but got him stone dead with the second. Very interesting and enjoyable day."

I try to write up most of my days shooting, I love reading back through the gamebook and remembering days which otherwise I would have forgotten. Believe it or not I was 12 then LB, agree I looked about 8 though!

Bit quiet on PW at this time, almost spooky...
