jim_whitson
I've just been to my butcher, and he tells me that his brother, (who usually supplies all my pigeon needs!) has packed up for the year. Apparently this is the end of his season. Are many of you guys stopping? I'm not sure what I'll do without pigeons... :'-(
Paul in North Lincs.
Jim As an agricultural pest the wood pigeon is not restricted to any season, and can be shot all year round if so required.....( assuming you you can prove that all other methods of control have failed ) Obviously the most favoured times are late Jan/Feb...Spring drilling time..... and back end of summer after harvesting, when the stubble is left Some shooters however do let them have a bit of a break during their breeding seaon though. However I think that the general concencus of opinion if that this winter has been a bit of a wash out for most pigeon shooters, due to the mild weather, freakish amounts of woodland grub available, and an influx of osr being grown this year. They have been cooing and acting all lovey dovey in my woods for the last couple of weeks now!!!!!! Paul in north Lincs
