Hi everyone!

sorry i have not been on in a while i been busy you all know how it is!

right where do i start! i think a update is needed for my new shoots i have gained!

i must admit i have not shot anything!

i must of been to my fields about 10 times or more!

i am deff is a flight path and as i explaned befor there is alot of activity!

this morning my uncal gave me 12 decoys and a 10 x 10 cammo net!

i made a really good screen/hide from my net and set up my decoys about 30 paces away! i built my hide up from a fallen tree!

i set my decoys facing into the small light wind about 2 foot away from each other at differnt angles!

is this correct?

also there is a hell of alot of wabbit activity!

do i set up a hide from them?

i know i am very new but i dont know why i cant get in a decent range?

i have a hw77k with silencer (they do work well) full cammo advantage timber

just oh i dont know!

any help i would really like to hear!

kinda lossing faith now?

Thanks all in advance

Hi Cosha

not to sure about the decoys, sounds ok about facing them into the wind and generally in a horseshoe shape. As for rabbits it really depends if they are educated. Not not with GCSE 'S more to do with are they really spooked at the sight of a human at 100 plus yards. If they are then ambush tech is required and a well cammo hide of sorts is required. The best weapon you can really have is the knowledge of there behaivour and the land you shoot on,ie what times are they best active and no not all rabbits come out to play at dawn and dusk.Take the land I shoot on at the 50 arce its productive at 5-6am and on the other 100 acre field its strictly dusk!

well good luck and keep us posted with your results

hi cosha nice to here from u again. on a rabbit shoot ive got the rabbits move around in the seasons it takes time to no where they are in certain months and what times there active.u carnt spend to much time there i sometimes walk around gunless still enjoyable.i will even laydown under the hegde & time how long it takes for 1 to pop out on average about 25 mins but could vary. one tip though i try to keep clothes unwashed for as long as i can detergents are not a natural smell and with the air gun range 25- 40yrds depending on gun & your own capibility they will no u are there.try to use the wind even the sun :) but dont loose faith red letter day just around the corner. :)

Find where the pigeons are feeding and stay sitting in your hide (don't stand up to look around or they'll see you face, and wait, it's only a matter of time if they have been feeding on the field they will land amongst your decoys. Good luck, let us know how you get on. For the rabbits I suggest you buy a lamp and battery and use that at night, what you see during the day may just be a fraction of the total population!!
