spanielboy
Had the dog out today and he has sliced his chest. its about 3 inches long but isnt deep. it bled briefly and then stopped but about an hour ago he went through a wooden fence when i wasnt watching and it started to bleed again...more so than earlier. so i wiped it down with antiseptic and warm water. i then put a wound spray on it that coats it silver with what i think is an aluminium powder. so my question is how do i know if it needs stitched? the game keeper and under keeper both looked at it and said its just a wound rather than anything serious. am i just being too precious of the dog? i was going to keep dosing the cut with the wound spray over the weekend and see if it heals up a bit? peter
Ferret Master
If in doubt then a quick trip to the VET is well worth it. Hope all is fine though. FM
spanielboy
he seems ok. ive been told to use the vets glue stuff to hold it closed. i think il monitor it over the weekend and go from there.
libs
i think il monitor it over the weekend best thing to do! I am sure you know your own dog and will be able to tell if he goes off colour and needs a trip to the vets.
