sean johnston
Hello could anyone tell me what flock coating is on decoys.?Is it like a rubber coating?I am wanting to reduce the weight and bulk of my shooting kit and at the moment i am using full bodied decoys but i find them far too bulky when you have a few in a bag.So i am thinking of buying some shells and would appreciate some advice on the best ones to go for and where to get them and the advantages of using flock coated deeks over the plain shells. Regards sean.
Cranfield
Hi sean, welcome. The flockcoated decoys I have, are full bodied and shells, they are standard rubber decoys covered in "flock". "Flock", is like a very thin baize type material. The colours match the pigeons very well and they don,t shine on bright days. I bought mine from N&S Shooting Supplies, 01925 728057, if you call, please mention Pigeon Watch UK. :(

Elma Fud
You cant get better than the real thing. When you debreast your birds, scoop out the inards and place the birds in the freezer (wife's permission is a bonus:love:) and save them for decoying at a later date. Remember to use the birds on cradles for max effect.:(
Tony
Sean, the flock coating resembles the velvet finish that comes with some types of packaging. The lining of my electric razor box has it. Elma's a lucky chap! I'd have my guts scooped out if a woodie got got anywhere near our freezer!! :(
