Topgunners
Yo All. I have been reading with wry amusement the ongoing post of £25.00 for 5 acres? Well after a lot of HARD WORK and MANY MANY tracks having been trod over the last 18 months, I have acquired 20,000 acres of land. And as an example, a couple of months ago I spotted some pigeons feeding on some rape and whilst sitting in my van watching them an elderly man came walking down the lane and I asked him if he knew who owned the particular fields. He pointed me to a farm in the distance to which I promptly steered the van to. I went down the drive and spoke to a very elderly lady and asked her if she had any "pest" problems I could possibly help her with . She replied she had foxes and muntjacs destroying her garden and if I waited and spoke to her son he might give me permisssion. Five minutes later her son appeared in a jeep and very curtly and abruptly said " no thanks" we have people sorting out their pest control. I said to him " OK BUT if you have a problem in the future please give me a call" and I gave him a pigeon shooters business card. Anyway , i NEVER GOT A PHONE CALL. But last week, I presumed he had probably planted "something" ; so I rang him again and he said he would need to ring his brother and see what he says. " Ring me back later" I rang back and they said they would like to meet me in person for a chat. After 20 minutes I got 1,350 acres a key to 1 gate and the combo for 2 others and they said they would "work on their neighbour" as he had 2,000 acres in and around their land and I would probably get that as well next week. And he then spent 45 minutes driving me round in his jeep showing me all the boundaries.BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!! So - NEVER GIVE UP, BE AS PERSISTENT BUT FRIENDLY AS YOU CAN and ABOVE ALL -----MAKE THEM LAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WORKS WONDERS.............. Topgunners
Thanks rb & dunga. It certainly does feel good but it will not stop me trying for more. And at £25.00 an acre I will be a MILLIONAIRE soon. Can retire then and shoot everyday. ***** Dave K
