Axe
Getting a grant for an FAC is fairly easy especially for an airgun. As long as you have land with permission to use an airgun and fill the criteria, you'll be fine. You will need to buy a gun safe though. peek-at
QUITE AN EASY PROCESS BUT MIGHT TAKE A WHILE DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCAL POLICE FORCE. RING THE PLOD AND ASK FOR FIREARMS LICENSING DEPARTMENT. ASK THEM FOR A SECTION 1 FIREARMS APPLICATION FORM. WHEN YOU GET THIS YOU NEED LIST WHAT FIREARMS YOU WANT AND SHOW GOOD REASON FOR HAVING EACH. IE .22 PCP AIR RIFLE CONTROL OF VERMIN (RABBITS/RATS) .177 AIR RIFLE CONTROL OF VERMIN ( PIGEON/CROW/MAGPIE ETC) (THE AIR ARMS S410 EXTRA IS A LOVELY RIFLE - ABOUT £560 NEW £350 USED- ALSO THEOBEN RAPID GOOD BUT MORE EXPENSIVE) ASK YOUR LOCAL LAND OWNERS (FARMS/GOLF CLUBS ETC) IF THEY WOULD ALLOW YOU TO SHOOT VERMIN ON THEIR LAND. OBTAIN WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THEM AS YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A COPY ON YOUR APPLICATION. LINE UP TWO PEOPLE WHO WILL ACT AS 'REFEREES' FOR YOU. THEY WILL NEED TO COMPLETE A SIMPLE FORM ABOUT YOU. THEY CANT BE FAMILY ! BUY A SUITABLE GUN CABINET AND GET THIS FITTED. NEEDS TO BE FITTED SECURELY & HIDDEN IF POSS (LOFT/CUPBOARD). PREFERABLY TO THE STRUCTURE OF YOUR HOUSE (IE BRICK/BREEZEBLOCK STUDWORK) WITH RAWLBOLTS AND ANCHORS. THESE USUALLY COME WITH THE CABINET. HAVE A LOOK AT JSRAMSBOTTON.COM BRATTONSOUND CABINETS MEET BS7558/92 standards. SEND IN YOUR APPLICATION AND POLICE WILL CONTACT YOU TO DO A SECURITY VISIT ON YOUR HOUSE. THEY WILL CHECK DOORS/WINDOW SECURITY, THE FITTING OF YOUR CABINET & ALSO SUSS YOU OUT TO CHECK YOU ARE NOT A NUMPTY ! FINALLY - CONSIDER GETTING AIRGUNNERS INSURANCE - (FROM AS LITTLE AS £20) HOPE THIS HELPS
