Horrocks
everybody knows these rifles have reasonably snatchy bolts before they get used too much, but i was looking at a second hand rifle, in good condition, but the bolt was very snatchy, almost as if it was slightly too small for the runners, or the action itself was rather loose, so it was knocking off the walls of the action and getting stuck, if you know what i mean. Also, the walnut around the opening of the slide itself was slightly worn, so the bolt caught slightly on the entrance to the runners, is this a widespread problem? im sure you get used to cocking the rifle in a certain way, but are the bolts a source of contention with these rifles? maybe the remedy is just careful use of the action, and not being over zealous when you charge the action? would appreciate knowing others experience of the same problem, or if its a problem at all, Thanks H. scout
I've never had a probelm with my cz and the bolt action is lovely and smooth, has been from day 1.
gixer1
Me either, they are renowned for being fantastic rifles out of the box for the money... The only point is they take a while to wear in and you need to try different types of rounds in them to see what suits the rifle best, mine is personnaly winchesters or CCI's... Baldrick
I don't get problems with the bolt binding with my CZs (both bought new). It's not a dangerous-game rifle, where the bolt binding is a serious issue. With daily use, regular cleaning of the bolt race and the application of a bit of white lithium grease, the CZ actions are smooth. It's not as smooth as the bolt on my Anschutz .22, but then a CZ is half the price. You get what you pay for.
