Spring Beans

Out on saturday shooting over spring beans , no flapper no magnet just 12 half shell deeks , WOW what a day 32 pigeon, 2 rooks and a rat (my first rat with a 12)

 

Mind you shame i'm not that good a shot fired 52 shots :D

 

got home about 9 ate my dinner , got a call about 9.30 and went lamping for wabbits got home 2.30am sunday

 

Shame about my old webley hammer, i didnt even bother finishing cleaning it poor old thing , as i ran the rod down i felt the rib move under my hand

****!!

RIP Hammer :D

 

But one good thing ,, it means i can buy another Yeeee haaaaaaa :):D

All you really need if they are coming for it. Well done matey, sorry to hear about the old hammer gun, hope it wasn't those old cartridges I dug out t'other day ;-))

Not the cartridges at all , my smithy mate says it can be repaired with normal solder , all i need is a jumbo soldering iron ,

Thanks again for the cartridges OR (still havent located a 16 hammer yet) , we must get out again sometime mate :lol:

That's right, the ribs are only soft soldered on to the barrels, you'll need to take the rib right off first, clean everything up and put it carefully back into place before soldering back into position.

 

My Dad made up a load of special clips to hold the rib in place while it was being soldered. Still got the clips and big iron somewhere so if you want to bring it over we can sort it out.

 

If you do it yourself (no pun intended !!) make sure you use a passive flux or the whole lot will rot away.
