Cosd
As posted in another section, I stored my gun in a damp case and when I opened it the following week the barrels were covered in rust spots. I cleaned the rust spots off but the blue has also gone, leaving the barrels covered in silver spots. Anyway..... A member on the site kindly sent me a cold DIY blue kit, which I though I'd try before going down the expensive route of getting them profesionaly done. I am not expecting a perfect job but I want to do it as well as I can. And I will put some stage by stage photos on here so people can see how well or badly it works. My question is, the instructions say to immerse the barrels in a bath of this solution mix, but doesn't say anything about whether or not I have to block the barrels at either end? Do I take the chokes out? Won't it damage the inside of the barrels if the solution goes inside? I think, if I'm not mistaken they are chrome lined. Gun is a multichoke Browning Medalist. John_R
I'm sure Midway has a barrel blue video on YouTube, and from memory he does block the ends.
