Suffolk shooter
Nice looking Gun , but for the same/similar sort of money you could get a Tikka, Howa, Wetherby Vanguard. I'm also looking for .243 and the choice is too much. Can't afford a Sako, Mannlicher SS
Blackbart
I have the winchester 70 coyote in 22-250,but mine has the laminate stock. If you get one get the trigger adjusted at the shop as they come set at 7lb +(something to do with california law)There is n need for a custom trigger as when adjusted it is excellent.Mine took about 35 - 40 rounds through it to settle down, they weren't all over the place, just not as tight as i would have liked. Now it just get's better and better the more i put through it and while checking the sights the other night prior to lamping i hit a 4mm bullseye at 135 yards and just to make sure i let another one go and hit the bullet hole of the first one So in my book that is an accurate gun. If you were closer you could have had a go with it to see what you think. When you are looking for a gun i would go and pick up as many a you can instead of looking at them and choose one that FEELS right. dave dog
Blackbrat hoe do you find the wiegth of your rifle. Is it very heavey in the format matt you have. AS i will be doing about 60/40% mix of shooting from truck and walking. As thinkin of getting one of those my self, found a few around the country side. How do you find it shoot would like a winchester or will go for tikka. But i do have mod 70 already and can't fault that one to be fair. Just like your take on the coyote plase would you recomend one. Dave
Blackbart
I would "not" recommend the 70 in my set up with heavy barrel and laminate stock if you are going to be walking about with it.I have not weighed it but with the mod on it is VERY heavy, and even without the mod it is still to heavy to be humping about. On the other hand if you want a rock solid platform to launch a bullet from, then stick a short bipod on it and rest on something and the rifle shoots itself.I got it for foxes and i am very happy with it. I will weigh it tonight and let you know the weight if you want.
