Tobyb525
Hi, My Uncle owns about 100 acres of land in the highlands of scotland which is bisected by a small road. How far do I need to be from the road to disharge a shotgun? (In the oposite direction) Can I use my guns in Scotland on a English Certificate? - I'm guessing yes! Thanks, Toby. webber
A SGC or FAC issued in England is valid in Scotland. You should not discharge a firearm within 50ft. of the centre of a road. As far as I am aware you still need a game license in Scotland, if you are shooting game. McF and myself treasure our permission in Scotland. It is the annual pinacle of our shooting. webber
ryantidgwell
can shoot next to the road i think as long as you aint causing an obstuction / disturbing the peace or causing alarm to other people
Billy.
Yes. Correct. The law seems to skip over this bit, which is very important.

gixer1
In scotland you can stand on the boundry of your land and shoot if you want, there is no law about being 50ft from the road in scotland but as mentioned it cannot "alarm" members of the public.... And yes you need a game license which you can buy from most post offices... Gixer Edited May 18, 2009 by gixer1
Tobyb525
Thanks for clearing that up, I'm only planning to shoot rabbits and woodies for now so I don't need any game licences. Toby.
M ROBSON
For every law in England there is another, usually better, law covering the same thing in Scotland!! Mark.
