stuey
Got a Beretta 686E Sporter with 30" MC Barrels. Gun was new in May 2007 and has never been out in the rain and is always cleaned after use. I have started to notice that the barrel lump and ejectors have patchy black marks on them, that don't clean off. Only in certain places, and wondering if anyone else has experienced this with Beretta? Someone mentioned that it was gas erosion, although I'm not sure what this is. cheers stu
markm
My Miroku has a little in places and has always been cleaned and oiled. It seems to be just a surface effect, possibly a phosphate caused by a reaction between the steel and maybe a preservative in cleaning fluids / gun oil. Have a look with a lens, if it looks deeper than surface contact the gun shop or GMK direct. Wish you had shown me today just to compare against my miroku. Also might just be carbon staining.
