dirtydawk
Hiya guys, I recently bought a .223 and added a JSR bipod that I had from a PCP air rifle. What I have found out though is that the recoil from centrefire ammunition is enough to knock the pins out of the JSR bipod after every 20 rounds or so. Without going straight out and buying a harris swivel 9-13" bipod what I am curious to know is whether or not the likes of the Harris clones made by Deben, Rockmount and Buffalo River are as good as a Harris? Obviously I would prefer to not have to pay top dollar for a Harris but if you truly do get what you pay for and the "clones" aren't up to the job then so be it. Your advice in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ian

Peter_HMR
Have used a rockmount before and the quaility is quite good. I was using mine on a .22wmr so not recoil issues. I now have the harris swivel 9-13" and i will say that the quaility is excellent its quite works well never squeaks never comes loose. Its an excellent bit of kit and mine has lasted me a few years already with little maintainence with not even a sign of stopping I would say you get what you pay for and a harris will last you a life time. nickcass23
Ive got the rockmount and its a very good alternative to the expensive harris, its on a rimfire so I dont have the recoil problem. Buy what you can afford if you have the spare cash go for the harris, if not then the Rock Mount if perfectly acceptable!!!!!!!
Baldrick
Anything that's not a Harris is not worth your cash. Get a Harris 9-13" swivel, fit it with a 'podlock' and you won't want for anything more.

dave dog
Denben i wouldn't even go there. THat fept folding up under recoil of a HMR gunshop would belivie me so he took it out did the same. And gave me one of this spare harris of this own. So ended up with two bipods took the denben apart tigthed all screws. Stud locked every that could be. A morinings fiddleing how it works do wouldn't even to a center fire as don't think it up to it and in my mind not safe to use. Buy a harris Dave
dirtydawk
Cheers lads, Looks like I'm pulling out for a Harris then! I'd rather pay the extra for something that is the right bit of kit though.
