SSS
I would like some advice on applying for a firearms certificate. I want to apply for a .223 and a .17hmr but dont know how much land, and what type of land I need to put down for the grant of a firearms certificate. Would i be better off just applying for .17hmr first in order to gain better trust with the police. Also, would I need to put down the bullet type, (ie, .223 rem or .223 WSSM) or just the calibre. Any advice would be greatly recieved.
markbivvy
land wise, send em what you have , they will tell you what its good for. 17 and or 223, try for both, they will tell you what they will let you have. bullet type, just put calibre and expanding. do a bit of reading before the visit. SSS
ok thanks. i was worried about getting it wrong and bieng refused a certificate. thanks for the advice. Iv got probably 400 acres in total, not many roads near by and plenty of hills and banks. I have been reading a lot about .223 WSSM vs .223 rem, many people say the barrels 'burn out' (.223 WSSM) after between 1000-2000 shots but will i EVER shoot that many shots in my life? Anyone on here have or ever had the 2 mentioned types of .223 and could tell me the real difference? thanks
