i bought a lamp from halfords to use for lamping but the 6 volt battery is poop...so i have cut down the main body . removed the battery replaced the h3 6volt bulb with a 12 volt h3 added a cable and 12 volt plug socket....and a front shrowd......and block off the back where i cut it down....

so this little sucker plugs in to the 12v so we can now lamp as we drive ...just need to uprate the cable to a curly cable and it's done...........

after seeing your lamp i had a attempt at making my own but the beam seams very spread out more like a searchlight than a gun lamp :S :S

does the lens shrowd recitfy this problem?

cheers mick

in shrt yes but it will cut down the range but it will still be enogh for bunnies at 40yrds

the lens is part of the lamp the shrowd is what i think your asking about is a plastic tupa ware box that is the correct diameter to fit onto the lamp the screw the outer ring back on...it just helps to cut down on light bleed side ways so as not to light up the truck and us

you could try to move the bulb position around in the lamp, if it's just a little of centre or sat too far forward it will make a massive diference to the size of the spot beam

Regards

Nick
