hehehe, i see it didn't take you long to pack up after i threw in the towel?

I all seriousness all thanks to protom1 for another good day out, my total 12 + a stockie. 6 picked 6 lost in the swathes. (thumbs through reasons for losing shot pigeon Volume II reprinted 1974) I er blame sitting too low and thus not being able to count how many swathes out into the field the birds were falling. Anyway it was a good day but the third dowsing finished me off, i'm sitting here now still slightly damp. Which begs a statement, showerproof is showerproof, waterproof is occasionally showerproof too, all depends on how big the shower is....

Anyway by way of review, arrived ontime with mild drizzle. allocated field and set up. Couldn't get comfy and hide was distinctly of the collapsable variety. Funny how when your hide collapses it takes less than 5 seconds to do so, usually when pigeon are coming in, however it always seems to take 10 mins to untangle your net. After 3x this i threw my teddy out of the hide and built a new one 5 yards to the left, problem solved even if it was of the sitting down low variety. First priority was to shoot two to put on the rotary (left my defrosted deeks on the draining board at home). First one in missed completely, same for the second. Next was downed, but despite a fairly concerted search it remained undiscovered - as did the next. So by now i am 2 kills both lost. Third one is half plucked as it hovvers invitingly over the decoys, is then hit again before struggling 3/4 of the field away and dropping dead. So 3 down none in the bag

After this normality returned and killed/ found the next few

A little question for you.... when does a poor shot become a really really poor shot 3 seconds later?

give up?

Ok i tell you.

A poor shot is when you have a pigeon floating over your decoys with a neon sign above its head flashing shoot me shoot me and you miss it with both tubes. 3 seconds later as you eject and reach in to your cartridge bag cursing you realise you have stood on your sandwich which you put down to shoot the bird :good:

Anyway as i say thanks to protom1 - cheers!
