mikee
ive been looking at buying a rem541-t, had it RFD shipped to my local shop for a look at it, its a lovely rifle apart from the poxy plastic 5 shot magazine, ive hunted the net and phoned edgar bro and some us dealers and spares web sites, none of which had anything better to offer, i think i'm gonna send it back and geta CZ 452, do these have steel mags and are spare mags readily available? some models have a straight stock and some have a hogs back, any info on theses stocks would also be good cheers in advance mikee
Billy.
The 452 will come with a steel mag as standard... Well, my .17HMR did and my .22lr came with plastic... Are you really that fussed about plastic mags? If you lose a metal one, it'll be a good £35 to replace...! The mags are readily available for the 452 on the internet. mikee
not really bothered about plastic if i can get 10 shot mags and cheap easily sourced replacements, would prefer steel though, my mate just painted all his mags bright orange in case he dropped any mikee
Baldrick
You can obtain steel 10-shot mags for the CZ - a bloke on the BBS offloaded some new ones a few weeks ago. The plastic ones suffice for me, although I find the 5-round mag more comfortable to carry round. The CZ452 is a better rifle than the Remington, in my opinion. My CZ (the straight-combed 'American' model) refuses to quit, no matter how poorly I treat it. The accuracy is virtually comparable to that of my Anschutz. I like the idea of painting magazines dayglo.
Billy.
http://smpworld.co.uk/store/index.php?main...ee2cd5fb5412fe9 They keep going out of stock and the cheapest 10 round plastic mag you'll find for the 452 My 452 in .22lr is frighteningly accurate. I got it second hand, as I prefer a gun that's been worn in. It was only £150 inc. a decent scope.
