gdunc
Been intending on writing a quick review of the transit box I purchased from TransK9 in June but hadn't gotten round to it - until now... Having just bought a Pathfinder I decided to get a box to fill the back of it with capacity for many spaniels. Looked at Lintran and TransK9 as I have seen these in the flesh - friends have both of these manufacturer's boxes. Decided on the TransK9 as it seemed a better shape and had all the features I needed 'as standard' - rubber mat, divider etc. Phoned to order and they had one in stock - result! Picked it up in person and have to say that Rob is a top bloke - very good on his product and happy to bleather about dogs and shooting etc. for ages - ended up leaving an hour later than planned. He came and spoke to me at Scone before I ran in the test and will throw in a free protective boot mat if you pick up the box from him in person. The box is the new style with double locks (top and bottom) on each door and is very well made. Panel fit is spot on and the box is silent when travelling. It is a nice fit for my car (or the Discovery3 which I nearly bought) and leaves just about enough space around it to squeeze in dummy bag etc. The only downside I can see is that there is a fair bit of weight in the box so I have to be careful lifting it out to clean it. My car even ended up modelling for the website http://www.dogtrailers.co.uk/b12/b12-pathfinder.html which reminds me I've still not painted that towbar (doh!). Overall I would highly recommend TransK9, there are cheaper around but these are made to last.
WGD
I would agree 100%; my experience is identical to yours having bought my box and picked it up from Rob and Sharon at the tail end of last year. Very friendly, excellent service and excellent product. Mine has had a range of mutts in it from 6 spaniels to 4 HPRs and a quick hose out means everything looks like new again. Can't recommend these boxes highly enough.
Raja Clavata
I was just about to ask for a recommendation on a decent quality dog car crate which doesn't constantly rattle like the pesky one I have at the moment does. Think you have answered my question for me. Thanks
jonnyoftheboy
yep.... agree with other 2 posts. I bought one for my disco 3 at British shooting show earlier this year. very happy with it. also bought the gun safe/drawer that fits under. well made, unlike some of the other ones I was looking at..... Al Downie
I have one too, and it's without doubt the best box on the market - totally solid, built-to-last construction, and completely rattle-free. And I'm gutted, because it's too big to use in my new car (Defender), and TransK9 don't make anything small enough for what I want (single cocker plus shooting kit plus two people in a 90), so I'm going to have to sell it and get something else. I'm looking at a CAB box because they'll custom build to my specs, but I have to say they don't look as well engineered as the Trans9 boxes. ******. tomo66
I have a custom made CAB box and its excellent,i got a half box for my focus estate to put my GSP in.Very well made sillent no rattles no condensation easily to wash out .I have been to CAB premises twice and they are excellent to deal with ,proper custom spec with some nice options ! I know about 20 handlers who also use their products and are very happy since their move over to CAB boxes.
