hi guys,

ive been having this peculiar problem with my Remington 1100. Every couple of shots, the gun seems to try and take both rounds from the mag ands they get jammed. Thing is then the trigger stops working, you cant pull it, its just lose.

Anyway if you drop the mechanism out and then put it back into the gun, the gun works flawlessly? So i tryed putting just 2 in the gun, but again the trigger stops working. This is getting to be a real pain in the **** especially when pigeon shooting.

what i have tryed now is cleaning the mechanism with 303 solvent and leaving it to dry and then im going to try and blast any dust out with an air line. I just really dont know whats causing it and it peculiar that when i take the trigger group out and put it back in it works???

so please help!

Here is my post coppied from the other forum in case you missed it.

Here is a cut away picture showing the shell latch, I have circled the bit that breaks off, check this bit is still attached on your gun.

If your sure the end of the shell latch is not missing the next place I would look is the interceptor latch & its post.

turn the gun over a look in through the bottom, the latch is located on the right hand side of the receiver, it look like this...

The latch can become sloppy on its post because of wear, remington make 4 different thickness circlips to take up the play.

One end of the interceptor latch (left in my picture) is pushed down by a part called the disconnector, the disconnector is attached to your trigger group & comes out with the assembly.

If the interceptor latch is sloppy on its post from wear it can jump past the disconnector which is holding it down causing the jam you describe.

By removing the trigger group & replacing it again you reposition everything back where it should be & its ok till it jumps past the disconnector again.

You need to fit the thicker circlips listed by remington to tighten up the latch on its post & it should be ok.

Pete Starley an RFD from Warwick usually has them in stock.

Hi Neil

Been searching around the net trying to get info about an issue I have with my old 1100.

Mine has started to ping off the clip that retains the intercepter latch (clip now missing in a field somewhere), The disconnector seemed to get behind the intercepter popping off the clip off. now with your info about the sloppy intercepter it all raps up I hope, the slop allowed the disconnected to get behind.

I,m hoping that the differing size clips you mention wil solve my issue but I fear deep down that the intercepter post might be worn too much to retain the clip.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for your input... Even if it is 4 years over due :)
