Hi all :( Thanks for looking in :D .

Before we kick off, i'm not  turning this into a 'who is best' or 'which calibre' thingy topic. I'd prefer to hear from people who have owned, own, worked with or regularly use either the THEOBEN MFR or the 'S'Type.

Whats good about them? how quiet are they? how heavy? does it handle nice in the palms? good trigger???;)? nice wood? good and bad pellets?

Basically your experience of using either of the above, especially left handers as that is what i am.

Thanks for your knowledge

Jas

Hi Nashty

sorry cant comment on the MFR or S type, but i have had a MK1 for over 10 years now, and i wouldnt swap it for owt. I find it extremly accurate, quiet, not too heavy, well balanced, nice to handle, the trigger is the old type it is predictable, and pellets , i use AA field. And easy to service "When needed"

The spare seals are expensive from Theoben but you can get O rings at a far better price.

Cheers HV

I do remember these rifles from when i was a teenager and for them to be still as precise as when they arrived on the scene years ago it only advertises the fact that they ARE so well engineered and well built it speaks for itself.

Now i'm a bit older and a little better off, i want to get the rifle of my dreams  but i'm a little uncertain about whats the max size of scope allowable on the new theobens, some say 44mm on the standard scope mounts supplied, others go bigger but then you need to add a riser bar for the objective lens which then you'd need some adjustment on the cheek piece.

It's all the little stuff, the personal feedback that matters as much as the spec of the gun, i wish the adverts would say a bit more about that, i know how brilliant these rifles are by looking at the price tag :/:rolleyes: then again you get what you pay for.

Cheers for your input and happy hunting
