Mungler
You just never know when you will need a good food Deydrator and for the right price. P.S. I must be developing a complex - whenever I go on kitchen / cookery shopping sites like that I find myself idly browsing the knife and knife sharpening sections. Ah the illusive holy grail of the right set of knives that stay sharp....
Doc Holliday
I've got a diamond knife steel and swear by it. Over the years I've tried many that claim to be the best knife sharpener around but they've all faded in comparison to these. One of my biggest bug bears is having a blunt knife either in the kitchen or out in the field. The other half always blunts them and leaves it for me to sharpen. Meat dehydrator sounds quite interesting. Mung, I shouldn't let it worry you. It's not a complex it's a bloke thing Edited October 31, 2009 by Doc Holliday
apache
Ah the illusive holy grail of the right set of knives that stay sharp.... Knives only stay sharp if you don't use them. You just need to sharpen them. Bit like a gun, if you fire it you need to re-load!
Beardo
diamond steel is definitely the way to go, you can get a frighteningly good edge on most knives very quickly with them (whilst not trashing the blade)
