crazyfarmerboy
I can get insured on a land rover 90, 2.5 tdi for £800 which does not seem too bad, considering it is £700 for my mk2 golf, 1.3, however i can not insure them both so land rover is sitting around at the moment, Edited October 18, 2009 by crazyfarmerboy
leadbreakfast
you cant go wrong with a landy defender.parts are easy to get, cheap on insurance, they last for ever and you can sell them for what you paid. just make sure you check for rust on crossmember, chassis and bulkheads and with simex tyres on you'll never get stuck

bicykillgaz
my wife had a jimny and it was a fantastic little thing cheap to run, insure and everything and good offroad when she use to drop me off and pick me up, rear seats fold down almost flat so loads of room for dogs or kit and i would have driven it if i had a licence admittedly i'd of prefered the dark green one they do to her red one, and fair enough it's no defender 90 but its not some fairy mobile either, so unless your lads gonna be dragging a horse box or anything like that it would be ideal, she had some big tyres on hers not the standards they was cheap too.
