I was wondering if anyone could tell me my dog has recently had three chocolate and three chocolate and white pups (the last three surprising us as both dam and sire were brown) anyway weill the chocolate and white go roan at the moment the colours and very very distinct they do not resemble the roan pups you often see.

If anyone can help i would appreciate thanks.

You don't mention how old the pups are at the moment.

Its my experience with springers, that the colour tones and colour distribution change considerably in the first year.

You can breed liver and white springers for years, but if there is a black and white anywhere in the pedigrees, be sure it will appear one day.

Hope this link helps and works!

My liver and White (chocolate roan) working cocker bitch was very white as a pup, as she's matured she's got a lot more roan come through.

Her sire was a near solid chocolate dog.

Her dam was a very dark blue roan bitch.

Hope you can see in the link the litter threw out lots of different colours. Harry.
