Do 17hmrs rounds ricchochet as i'm putting a case together to approach plod with and i'm not up to speed with this guns potential at the moment. <_<

I have a .17hmr and use ballistic tips and they do not richochet in fact the local plod would rather you use this instead of.22 as they reckon it is a safer round.

As Mike has said 99% of plod prefer this round

Ive had my .17 hmr for a 1 1/2 years now and havent had a riccchochet yet and ive put about 1500 rnds through it so far!

It is a great bunny tool but, and this is the only but is the noise!!

I have a PES on mine which does a great job but it still a heck lot noiser than a moderated rimmy.

So what i guess i am saying is that the .22 and the .17hmr have their places.

Are we talking a similar noise to when you shoot a high velocity round down a silenced .22 rimfire??

To give you some idea of the noise from a .17hmr my gundealer says it is like the crack from a whip.

I personally dont think it is as noisey as say a springer airrifle with out a silencer on.
