making up letterbox feeders

Mung & I have been over the farm this morning making up letterbox feeders.

 

I thought you would all like to share in Mungs silicone sealant "skills" -

Here is Mungs finished result, I reckon he could have got a bit more on there myself :blink: -

Gotta be done though,unless you like slushy black wheat at the bottoms.

 

Also have gotta love letterbox feeders; although raise them high as the birds tend to spill alot otherwise.

Top tip if your doing mastic work or silicone cut a fine nosle and run it in a constant bead then get a spray bottle with soapy water in it and spray over the silicone then wet your finger run along the silicone stand back admire good job . Job done thats how i seal all my work

I see you can take a perfectly good letter box and naff it......You should weld them in, That is if they are not made of plastic.

Nozle? Nah mate, when the Mungler mastics, the nozel comes off - wallop 1/2" bead dobbed on, insert letter box and screw down (splurge) filled, sealed and stuck. Jobs a good 'un.

 

I see LV hasn't photo'ed his "artistic" namby pamby attempt - a distinct lack of mastic and well that will be leaking like a Land Rover next year.
