wacker
Hi, going to pick up my Anshutz .22 rimmie tomorrow - Question is in two parts 1 Do i need to run in the barrel, or can i just shoot 2 How often do i need to clean the barrel and the mod - i just bought a bore snake as i'm guessing it won't need as much messing as a .17 Cheers all
codling99
well my opinion is,shoot a few rounds throught it,then set scope up,and dont touch it again till it starts playing up.

bruno22rf
Had my rimfire about 15 years and i pull a small bit of rag through it with WD40 on it once a year-things still more accurate than i will ever be.
wacker
Cool, i'll use the bore snake to get any storage gunk out and then leave it.
jcbruno
i for one do clean my rimfires after every firing, i own 4 2 cz's and 2 annies i do not use a wire brush ever i use a .17 dewey rod with 22 cal swabs with clp/oil and then a few dry swabs to ensure the bore is dry and then before every range competition and or day on the hunt i fire 2-5 rounds fowling many ways to skin a cat Edited September 25, 2009 by jcbruno
