hi guys, just a quike question about 1 for 1 variations. ok so i have an emptie slot for a moderator for a .17hmr got the rifle, but i have never bothered to get a moderator for it. i need to get a variation for a .223 rem. so is it possible to get a 1 for 1 to get a slot for a moderator changed to a .223 caliber (with an apropriot reason and permision)?? thanks in advance for any help cheers, lab.

i dont no if all sillouets have it or not but my one says 452 american on the side of the action i would have thought it would be the same? im assuming your stock is to suita .17hmr?

im a scottish gamekeeper through the winter somtimes a lot of hinds have to be culled often to longer ranges eg. 200-280 yards. but on the rare ocasion that a beast is wounded if out of range is re stalked and shot again no stalker in his right mind would atempt a shot at a beast at a thousand yards its ******* insane. its things like that that give us a bad name! the ocaisonal wounded beast has been shot at 400 yards as a last resort where its not possible to get closer to it. only last week i had a lend of a clients range finder and mesured a stone at 244 yards and beleve me it looked a lot further than that. i think a lot of people have no real idea how far a thousand yards is on the hill. what idiot shoots a beast a kilometer away. that statment alone is enough to put me of shepherd scopes. labrador. ps. most if not all the scottish stalkers including myself use s&b, swarovski or zeiss. i never herd of shepherd until recently

i have noticed an increse in people using .222s again and why not, its very acurate, pretty flat shooting and and about as quiete as you can make a centerfire rifle its a bit like 28 bore shotguns a few years ago nobody bothered with them all it took was people to start using it and now loads of people shoot them

im looking at a sako vixen in .222, it obviously isnt a new rifle im not bothered if the stock is scratched i will re-oil it. the action and trigger will nodoubt be pretty good being sako(i can clean them up and re blue if i need to. whats bothering me is the possible condition of the barrel i dont own a bore scope how can i check that the bore is ok. i wouldent be two bothered if i had to re-barrel after a few hundred rounds but at the moment i cant aford to. can you give me any advice on the bore and is there anything else i should look out for with this rifle thanks in advance

my cocker bitch has just turned 1 year old and seems to have developed the habit of picking the retrieve and then just running around and chewing it forgeting that im even there any advice is very apriciated also when hunting forthe first 1min or so she will hunt properly and then she forgets im there and takes matters into her own hands any tips i have been told to try hunting her until shes about to run of then lie down in the grass so that the dog thinks, oh **** and in feuture pays more atention do you think this will work

if you are hill stalking or long range shooting of any kind keep the barrel as long as possibile the .243 is a flat shooting calliber and the more you shorten the barrel the more velocityyou loose
