kent
Most likely its extending the game, recall needs work there are other ways (tunnel retrieves etc) but if the dog knows full well what here means...
Fal
He's also still very young!! When mine started doing this, I let him carry on until he was bored of running around. I completely ignore him when he is doing it, I don't look at him, shout at him I jest leave him be. He will eventually come to you, then just take it off him without saying a word. Lots of praise the next time he comes straight back. I have stood there for 5-10 mins sometimes!! Don't give in! ha ha you must not be the first to give in! I agree with this up to a point - but - when the dog brings it to you NO MATTER WHAT, he should be praised. It's also worth giving him back the dummy and walking off so he doesn't think it's particularly high value to you, if that makes sense? Try retrieves in a confined space if you can, too but never just grab it off him in frustration (so easily done!)
