Pistol p
Watched an epic dog fight this evening over witham in essex. A jet provost was tailing what looked like a hawker hunter until the hunter went into climb. From there on they rolled and pitched for 5 mins covering the surrounding skyline, tearing the sky with sound and exhaust smoke in a mock dog fight. It bought people out to watch many of which were younger than those tumbling airframes. After ripping it up for a while they then barrel rolled off into the distance, towards North Weald probably. I love aircraft and often see them cutting between the shows and airfields here. It was brillant.
digger
Must have been good to see. near me when they plough, bullet casings are thrown up that trace the flight of the dog fight in the air.
norfolk dumpling
We had a couple of Russian-made fighters over north Norfolk Tuesday. Flow by indianpilots I gather. Fantastic sight and and what a fantastic noise. They were very high up but the ground was shaking. Reminded me of the good old days when Mildenhall air display was a feature in our summer calendar. Pistol p
Blimey. After talking to various friends and family over the weekend, it seems the hawker hunter that crashed at the weekend was the same one mentioned in this post. I must say it seemed a bit risky dogfighting over a built up area, and now it sounds as though the loop he pulled wasn't a part of the show either. Tragic really.
