30-6
Been out twice recently on a wheat field being decimated by rabbits really badly. I know the field well and on 1st visit took .17 hmr. Stalked around slowly, came home with 10 and unable to find 1 more. Total 11. Even trying head shots only, some were no good at front end and were fed to farm terrier. On second visit took a seat and .22 long rifle and also s410 fac air. Set up so hedge was 50 plus yds and grazed area was about 40 yds. Again had 11 all found and 9 of them with fac air which pushes out 34 ft/lbs after a service. Apart from the obvious blood, all rabbits were whole and the dogs had none. On both visits I used a tripod for support.

Dekers
Not sure what you are getting at, but sounds like simply a matter of selecting the right tool for the objective.
30-6
What i was trying to get over was how efficient and effective fac air is in certain situations, while contributing to carcass end product presentation. This was directed at anyone in the quandary of thinking is a fac air up to the job. Like you say, right tool for job in hand.
