    Auto box not a problem in mud as long as you use centre diff lock otherwise the stability control cuts in on a slide. If you can find one with rear diff lock also that would be a real bonus.

     

    32 mpg very optimistic in my opinion, reckon on around 25 with AT tyres and general offroad use. Keeping the AT's over inflated helps with the mpg loss.

     

    Make sure the service history is genuine, oil changes (with correct grade)at the 10k miles essential. 40k (4th year) service should have

    included diff oils and is relatively expensive.

     

    Had a Discovery 3 before and although LC is not as comfortable it seems to cope well enough.

    Look at the 10th one down Total price £5.29 , purchased one recently.

     

    GOOD Points

    Range is good at up to 25 yards.

    Very neat and compact.

     

    BAD points

    Take about 3 weeks to arrive

    No instructions included but not rocket science

     

    Just need to see how long they last.

     

    While you are at it order a 12v 300rpm motor (about £7.75) if you have one of the original slower flappers, as an upgrade. Easy fit.

    If you order from Gadgetskingdom they are delivered from Colnbrook UK in about 5 days.

  11. Flapper speed

    Does anyone know how fast the latest MK5 flapper from UKSW runs. I did call them but no info available.

     

    I also asked if a faster motor was avaialble to ungrade older version but only vague reply.

     

    Has anyone compared the MK5 to a Turbo flapper in terms of speed of flap.

     

    I am sure am answer will be along soon from Will B.

    I cannot promise but I think there is a good chance they will fit.

     

    However due to size (approx 900mm x 250mm x 250mm) and weight (approx 15kg) I think that postage would be very expensive

     

    You could arrange collection if you wanted.
