I well remember when my brother worked for Coypu Control , they had White vans with Coypu Control on the sides in fairly large letters , when the campaign started their were still large numbers of Coypus about and nobody blinked a eyelid at the vans , then as they started to make inroads into the numbers and they were televised taken them out of the traps the mood amongst the public started to change with the tyres being let down or a hole put into them , when things got bad they removed all the writing on the vans and things settled down as far as the motors being damaged , this continued till the ministry finally declared the war against the Coypu was over .

went for an interview for that job..........good money...and bonus scheme and free .22 shells....traps and sugar beet and van and boat with engine.......sick as a pig i didnt get it

The reason they are very quiet about it is that it doesn't really work on Earth, other than for a few  seconds and even then the energy output achieved compared with the energy used to get it working is not even break even and is stil in realms of scifi. The best yet I believe is Chinese where they managed just over 100 seconds, but energy in was greater than energy out.

Effectively the sun core teperature is 15million Kelvin (or Celcius doesn't really matter at this scale), but to get a tokomak to work on earth you need to get the plasma up to 150million kelvin as there is no extreme of pressure available.

The suns core pressure also means that the Hydrogen in the core is in its metallic form (has formed a lattice structure) whereas we are experimenting on earth with plasma (gas with electrons stripped from it) which further makes matters difficult.

i sort of understand that...........i have always been .....errr not scepticle......but thought it was still in the relms (slightly) of si-fi....................

but one thing i can say is..........you dont put billions into these schemes...in recent months/years making full scale ones like in france    after gaining the practicle knowledge from the early machine built and run in oxford in the 1980's............:hmm:

EDIT..........just remembered the name of the experimetal lab in Oxford...J.E.T.........joint european taurus.......it was explained to me they were experimenting with a ring of plasma held in position with magnatism........and that was in 1980 !!!

  6. we hear very little of the Tochomat experiment despite billions going into it in the EU...the french are now building a full size one...started it a few years ago and the UK....think they are building a 3/4 scale new one...i remember going past the experimental one in oxford in 1980...wondering

"they" are keeping very quiet about it...........

I think he was trying very hard not to like it, either that , or he was using irony to make it sound more interesting ?

Either way , he enjoyed himself, a lot, when he didnt expect to, which is good.
Next week hes going to try other Neanderthal activities to see what they are like , hes going out on the beer, and he may try sex, with an actual woman....

thats how Kate Hoey started clay pigeon shooting.BASC arranged a day for her...she really enjoyed it   and started shooting clays regular...and was a member of the Labour cabinate....until they found out and sacked her........

It is now far too late to shut the stable door. I am more than glad I am this end of my life and I feel for those British youngsters under twenty.  By the time they reach my age this country will be an absolute cesspit.

go and ambush some american immergrant squirrels...............you will feel alot better.............:good:

  9. i remember when i made my first ferret box...used bits of leather for the hinges...and chicken wire for the front...and my dads old leather belt for the strap.....and bit of leather with a wooden peg for the lock :good:....christ that was a long while ago....like this thread

dont think you should put wood preserertive on it ...might make the ferrets sick.........
