Paul61 replied to bistoboy's topic in Talk From The Field
Hi Dave, I checked out the nppc nearest one to Lancashire is Yorkshire, If I new they were hitting a field there, worth the journey but to go on a chance seems a chunk of change. Thanks, Paul -

Hi Dave, Looking for the same thing, if you want to have a ride to St Helens give us a shout. -
Not all Farmers are bent on genocide. I ask what he wants controlled and get told what to leave.

Is round (cylindrical) the worst possible shape for a moderator ?
Paul61 replied to Catweazle's topic in Guns & Equipment
Has anyone made a moderator from Polyurathane? light, elastic properties for expansion, cheap to produce from simple tooling, would allow the use of some interesting baffles and chambers for expansion. Probably dishwasher safe for cleaning -
There at the end of the Isles, near the tool / DIY bit think it is only in the bigger stores

How come I can add pictures or attachments in this thread (assuming you can see a picture above) but not in one that I have posted. Does anyone have an updated version of how to upload pictures. The one in post 2 is great but I think it is out of date.

Still can't get a picture on here

I should have known, a Yorkshireman gets a better bargain than me

Did you find an answer for this I have the same issue

Saw these in Tesco, Brilliant for holding nets to poles and branches. The yellow plastic jaws clip off and I secure the net to the top of the pole with the clamp and wedge a bit of grass, straw twig etc in there. £1.00 for a set of 4 clamps They also do an extendable washing line pole that if I could source a spike would be a great net pole, bit heavier and taller than the "proper" hide poles but the clamping ferrule and top is exactly the same as the proper poles. Anyone else got any good little buys like this? I tried to put a picture on. Anyone know how you add upload directly? Still don't know how to upload directly but found a picture on the web and the write up 4pc Spring Clamp Set (90mm)

Nice shooting and well worked for.

ok but I am still confused, I have a 2 1/2 inch chambered gun, I bought 2 1/2 inch cartridges with 67MM stamped on them 2 1/2 inch is 63.5MM Where has the extra 3.5 mm come from and can I use them in a 2 1/2 inch chambered gun?

Thanks for the responses, I have gone down the priest route and it seems to be working well, immediate result and none have come back from it either. The one I have been using is a small 5" long with a brass weight on the end. (it did attract a comment that it looks like sooty's wand)bit it works and it is very "pocketable"

Thanks everyone for the posting, sorry for the delay I was expecting an email or something if people replied (just assumed that) but after posting the initial thread and getting the above responses and reading them today I feel better informed even though there are some conflicting views. Cheers.

OK I can understand there is a lot of "natural" food that Pigeons may prefer in the woods but I see a lot of gulls in the fields where there used to be pigeons. Will Gulls push the woodies off a field? How much crop damage do Gulls do? How much damage is caused by the gull droppings as I read somewhere they are potential "super bug" carriers? What is the status now of gulls on the general licence?
