  1. That's what I thought first but it's clearly only on the outside and not right through, plus he says that that was the first thing he noticed.
  2. Went down to Aldi this morning, they've got some decent fishing bags for £10.99, I got one to use as a range bag but I'll probably take it out to the field as well. Well worth a look for that price, shame they didn't have rod bags again!
  3. Well they definitely work! I set up the six and pigeons were coming in but seeing as I didn't have a hide I was spooking them! I think I'll get another six and a hide this week. The permission is brilliant, never thought I'd get anything like it! Hopefully get some decent days down there this year. Got a couple of woodies just walking about, I'd forgotten that they take quite a while to pluck and clean! If I get any more I think I'll just be taking the breasts!
  4. I have to say I enjoy television, because there's so many channels I can usually find something I don't mind watching and if I can't I read a book, or go on the computer, or go out. I'd obviously prefer if it was cheaper but I probably get my money's worth. I don't think I've ever struggled to find something to the point of watching a channel that reads out the name of someone who's won a tenner!
  5. I'm not a supporter of all of Thatcher's policies but I can't help but admire her, especially the way she dealt with the Falklands situation, I have little doubt that the outcome may have been different under a weaker leader. Whatever you think of her, the fact is that, she was democratically elected into office 3 times. Although I think the way some people are reacting to her death is disgusting we all have a right to express our feelings, some people seem to have chosen to express their feelings with very bad taste and have downloaded this song. By doing this they have effectively 'democratically elected' this song to be number 1 this week so no matter how much some of us disagree with their choice it has to be played, if it isn't what kind of democracy do we live in? Personally I don't want it played but I don't think we should be able to pick and choose in these matters.
  6. I got the FUDs in the post today, they look pretty good (not that I could really tell good from bad). I'm pretty impressed with how compact they are, they don't really give the missus much room to complain! I think I'll take them with me when I have a wander around the new permission on Sunday, can't wait!
  7. Thanks everyone, I think I might try a mix of FUDs and flocked shells to start with.
  8. Has anyone tried FUD decoys? I've never decoyed before but just got permission on land with a load of pigeons so I'm considering giving decoding a go. I know they're expensive compared to other shells but the space saving seems pretty appealing. These are the ones: http://www.nrafud.com/nra.php
  9. Thanks everyone, great to see that this place is as friendly as I remembered. Thanks Phil, Dyserth isn't that far, don't know the area that well though, Do you do most of your shooting around there? Hi Jonathan, I've got a few landowners I know on Anglesey which I'm going to approach about permission in the coming weeks, where about are you? How are you finding the Gamo? I've only had spring air rifles in the past.
  10. Hi All! Not been on here for a long while, even forgot my password! Anyway, just moved to Bangor from near Porthmadog so looking for any shooting I can get around here and Anglesey. Looking forward to meeting a few of you soon. Iwan
  11. That's the one, My favourites are the Celtic, Medieval and Cowslip ones. A bit sweet but very nice when you fancy it!
  12. There's a place in Llanberis, north Wales that sells the proper stuff, not like the commercial Lindisfarne mead that you get. If you ever go pop in to the shop and the guy will get you plastered on the stuff! He's so passionate about the stuff he'll make you try every kind he makes. I've just bought 30 bottles as favours for my wedding next week, and he stuck a few extra ones in for good luck! Have a look on Google, the place is called the 'Snowdon Honey Farm' I think.
  13. One of my chickens once layed a massive egg. I broke it open expecting it to be a double yolker but to my surprise there was another smaller egg inside! Never happened again though.
  14. How would you feel if that innocent person was your son or daughter? Would you be happy to tell the government 'Fair doos mate you got it it wrong, these things happen' or would you be demanding justice?
