Hopefully all the new bills for gun reform and ownership going through will reduce this. There is one that is pushing for them to actually have a gun licence and checks. Don't think that'll happen in a hurry.

Are you related to the Mellors politician that helped to push the pistol ban through in the UK in 1997?

Vince - a detailed prediction. I was merely going to add that she is just a bit thick.

But Ursula is a qualified medical doctor and mutti Merkel was a university research scientist in quantum chemistry before going into politics. So what do you have to balance your comment, an O level?

    Keep to the plot.

I reckon the near-future for caravans would be to build a battery pack into the trailer base, that would then extend the range massively.

IMO, the main issue with electric vehicles is the lack of any standardisation, especially (surprisingly) from the EU car manufacturers. They can't agree on anything so will never make any advancements. The major manufacturers also held back, letting Nissan and Tesla do the grunt work, then jumping in late and claiming they'd reinvented the wheel. They're so heavily invested in oil that they were hoping Tesla would fail and electric would die off.

Electric vehicles need a booster, something to quickly extend the range, readily available. If the manufacturers could stop being petty, they could work on a super-capacitor bank, or hot-swappable battery that could be swapped out in minutes, then recharged at the station while you drive another 200 miles.

As for hydrogen, unless they can come up with a really energy-efficient way of splitting hydrogen from water in-vehicle I can't imagine it being very feasible for passenger cars due to storage and transportation issues.

The Chinese have 50,000 cars on the eastern side of the country doing this now. See 7 minutes into the video.

All that people would have to do to avoid the poll tax is not register to vote and drop off the electoral register. Which is what happened last time,

A lot of people only go on the electoral register because  its one of the requirements to pass credit checks for finance. They would not stay on once they got the credit card or mobile phone

The rest of Europe has compulsory registration  of residents that was brought in by the allies at the end of WW2 and it works very well, but mention this in the land of the free UK and folks get up in arms about it. There is no other way to track the population and illegal immigration. Grow a pair Boris and do something useful.

  5. Was PM not chased off a US TV show he was working on a few years back due to his ranting on all the time about their gun control or lack of, so he then came back over here with his tail between his legs.

Yep, but they probably don’t use 1000 lb of explosives 🤔

The same thing happened with a yank bomb in Munich some years back, it was found next to the bar that I had used when I met the wife there in 1980 as it was surrounded by lots of 8-12 height blocks of flats they decided to deaden it with piles of straw. Off it went and strewed burning straw all over town caused a lot of laughs and damage that one.

Utter garbage for which you have no proof whatsoever. Ask our American friends on here if he improved their lives.  Ask any of the military etc etc etc.  I have family and friends in the USA so I get the TRUTH not what is printed or spoken in the Commie press.

I too have friends in the USA one of them died at the beginning of February not from CV and the funeral was held in a small Kansas town, the funeral directors put the service online as it seems the new way over there.

Half the congregation had no masks on so is it DTs fault the 500K death toll or joe blow just being stupid?

He seems to be saying the nazis were vile scum for the slaughter of Jews. Unless I've missed something, what's wrong with that?

Zyclon-B was very popular at the time..........very good uptake

Seemed to be a bit on the lighthearted sarcastic side to me. What you write can be taken in different ways compared to spoken comments. ATB.

  9. I reckon the buyers that do up those shown on the HUTH tv show often lie about what they had spent on renovations too. Buying two at the moment for my daughter as her english is not too good to run the gamut of the agents / convevancers. I always get my builder to do a walk through and advise ref the purchases as he will see so much more than a surveyor in a suit will.

  10. Not sure about this one but I had to return from Zeebrugge to Dover a week after the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster and our ferry went alongside the ship still lying on its side in a few metres of water so one third of the hull was out of the water, very moving as I lived in Deal at the time and a lot of locals were lost on it.

  11. Way back in 1971 I did 12 Commer van basic conversions in two weeks. Nowadays the standards are much higher. Keep the insulation and go for windows that will be deep enough to cope with the maybe 50mm sandwich walls. Yup to doing a detailed plan before starting out. The whole roof around the rooflight could be covered in solar panels pretty cheap these days then you will need to decide where to stash the storage batteries.
