  1. That's a terrific finish. On the original post, I'm pretty certain that is a lacquer finish......it's a ****** to remove and not at all like varnish. I took to a Winchester 550 years ago and lived to regret it. I finished it but never again. It needed coats and coats of stain to hide the burnt look. We all learn and thanks for the post. I bought an old 1964 Yeoman recently and had bought the refinish kit and all but when I got it home I thought " hey that looks ok" and left it.

  2. You will still get 120 but probably on line. There are still labs to process it to negative also then you could print. I take the negative and scan so you can work it in photoshop. It's a great pastime. I think it's like LPs.......they will make comeback.

  3. Found this Yeoman in a local dealers for £185. It seems to be a Yeoman alright, but has a floor plate and some engraving like a No.3 ......maybe some sort of transition model. Anyway it's mine now. My first gun was a Yeoman so it's a sentimental thing.

My pigeon gun now is a Mossberg 500 which is fun but I'm looking forward to this old lady. Made in 1962 when I was 10 years old. It's tight as a son of a gun so I dismantled it and cleaned the working parts. The oil and grease had turned to a thick glue. I was going to re laquer it but used Renaissance Wax instead and I'll leave it like that. Still real tight when reassembled and choked 1/2 and Full.

  4. Security questions are all well and good. You must have good security; alarm, dog , windows especially patio doors, what type of neighbourhood .....all are factors that you must satisfy. But no policeman can " knock one off". He's just a policeman and you are a citizen, but yes, good reason is a factor. Why do you need 2 .22 rifles? One for target rifle and one for Mini Rifle. Have your answers ready. Good cop bad cop, yes been there except I knew the bad cop and he was a great bloke.

  5. It's a great scope. I had the 8x32 on a CZ 550 laminate Varmint. It cost £110 delivered. It's solid and dependable. It's not Smitd and Bender but you know that. I shot it out to 600 yards. Made in shanghai I think, very hi tech factory.
