  4. Does it work similar to FAC whereby you need to record each rifles serial number and apply for variations if changing rifle or swapping calibre for instance?
  5. Not personally Ollie Ollie, its an honest but basic set up that one of my good friends uses. Depending on your requirements I suppose but his dogs are normally kenneled outside at home and fitted in well. There is another Kennel I am aware of further up the coast in Port Glasgow called something like "Doggie Hotel" , which another friend speaks highly of but I personally know nothing of it. Google may be your friend to find out more info on that. Hope that helps

  8. Hi HDAV, Many thanks for the information, looks like the "Simple Light" is the way forward, it would be good to use them elsewhere too eg when we go elsewhere stalking etc Didn't realise how regulated the radio world was.. Much appreciated!!! CB
  9. Hi wascal, Thanks very much for the heads up and info. I wonder if it would be possible for him just to get the license for the first 4 channels then? (without having to modify the radios themselves)? As its an estate he work on, prob best they keep within the law.. Thanks again
  10. Hi All Can I tap into the wisodm of those of you who know their onions reagrding UHF frequencies and associated licenses etc? My mate has been given two Motorola GP344 UHF Radios and charger from one of his ships that are upgrading their equimpent and he mentioned they'd be great to use around his shoot . I mentioned that I'm sure these will require some sort of license from Ofcom , like the "UK Simple Light" ? On removing the battery cover, the frequencies are as follows: Ch1 457.525 Ch2 457.550 Ch3 457.575 Ch4 457.600 Ch5 467.525 Ch6 467.550 Ch7 467.575 Ch8 467.600 Question is, are these frequencies acceptable to be used on land or are they allocated for "on Board" use only? Would he be able to get an Ofcom licencse to use them on his shoot ? If not, can these be reprogrammed to different frequencies to be able to use on land Cant seem to ge a difinitive answer from various googling but would apreciate some input. Cheers
  11. I'm sure that's the best Christmas present you both could have wished for. All the best for 2016 too
  12. Excellent, just as I thought, didn't know about the two stars though. Everyday a school day Cheers guys
  13. Hi all, Can a knowledgeable forumite please confirm this is the correct marking for chamber size on a Pedretti .410 Hushpower. Stamping on the barrel within the outer sleeve shows "CAM 76" & I'm surmising it's for 76mm (therefore imperial 3")? Just before I go and buy some 3" carts... Many thanks
  14. I see what you are saying cookoff, having read plenty from sitsinhedges regarding the great performance of homeloads, it does get you thinking. I'm not sure I've got the time for it all tbh, however, if I start getting into the 000's of cartridges used over a season then I'll re-think the reloading route.
  15. Just an update on the carts I tried a few days ago, only two types were available: Eley Grand Prix 25gram #6 fibre were extremely quiet & when used on a few clays, they really dusted them, soft on the shoulder too Clever mirage 24gram #7.5 plastic..only tried a handful but noticeably louder and snappier too but dusted the clays I managed to hit Have bough a few boxes of the Grand Prix's to get me going The Hushpower bug has bitten again though..picked up a pedretti .410 husher this week for some vermin control, need to try a few carts through that now too
  16. Well Gents, once again thank you very much for the input Interesting about the shredded plastic wads sitsinhedges, I'll defo stick to fibre then & I'll try and get some Eleys and Gamebores to see how they fare. Cheers
  17. OK gents, thanks for your advice re: the Investarm 20g Hushpower , I managed to find a 2013 model & it will arrive this week. I've not got the facility for homeloading and to be honest, not much time in the near future, but I'd like to tap into your wealth of experience one more time. I have been reading up a bit about carts, and unless i'm in cattle sheds and very near stables, I will prob leave the subsonic carts out of the equation for now, most of my work will be crows and some pigeons over decoys or walking around wooded areas. The handiest gunshop to me only stocks Clever Mirage carts. I use them for game in my 12g but wondered if anyone have any experience with them in the hushpower? They currently have 24gram loads in 4, 7,5 and 9, and 28 gram loads in 4,5,6,7.5 & 9 Was thinking of trying the 28's in 5 or 6 to see how they fare I'm not sure if fibre or plastic wads will make a difference when rattling through the baffle? Does fibre leave more material after firing ? I could use "justcartridges" if id be better using something like the Eley's, I read the Hy-Flyers were a good (I mean quiet and efficient) cartridge to use throught the Hushpower too. Anyway, sorry for all the questions but some input, however small will be appreciated as before. Cheers
  18. That's excellent info thanks very much, glad I asked on here first, I'd never have know the newer model is a mono block baffle. Cheers
  19. Thanks for the input gents, looks like I will be getting one if I can find one! Much appreciated
  20. He's growing wholecrop & the scarecrows ain't cutting it. The whole glen is alive with them & only parts of it are shot on. Larsen's & ladders were ripped apart by vandals. He has asked if i'd decoy them so I will oblige So, back on track, anyone else using the 20g hushpower?
  21. Right, Been thinking if getting a 20g O/U like the investarm/pedretti model for a while now. The farmer I shoot for has asked me to clear some ground of corvids which is close to houses & stables on one side of a glen, the 12g fairly booms off the glen and early morning decoying isn't really an option due to noise. I'd prefer the 20 over a 410 ( & a 12 for that matter) but who owns a 20g O/U and what's your thoughts. Not seeing many for sale either, any going on here? Cheers
