http://photos.fotango.com/p/eba00441596f00000001.jpg a link to the photo, that may get around the anti virus software problem. - The rifle is zeroed at 50 yards, but with Eley HP subsonic Extra Plus, as I use the rifle for rabbits really. I used CCI Velocitor for the crow and foxes, these go 3.5 to 4 inches high at 50 yards and 1 inch high at 100 yards. Cheers Andy CM
  2. Hopefully a photo appears, 1st attempt so fingers crossed. Went out Tuesday night with the plan of sitting up for bunnys, but found a cut field and saw a Crow at about 100 yards - so I pitched up and resting the rifle on a fence viewed the crow. Wound up the scope to 9x and waited for it to stop moving about. Squeezed off the shot (aiming 1inch low) and the crow dropped - paced the distance at 95 yards - well pleased. Sat up for the rabbits - none appeared. But then these came along. Vixen taken at 60 yards with a .22LR CCI Velocitor through a CZ452 Style and the cub at 35 yards. Both dropped instantly to chest shots. Can't wait for some more fields to get cut. AndyCM OD_Vixen_Cub_08062004.doc
  3. Hi odgc, Sounds like my recent holiday was good timing after all. I've not been out for a month. Will I be seeing you Thusday night ? Andy Mahon
  4. .....or just use oversize sticks to get the deeks visible above the crop. Bamboo sticks from the garden centre are ideal, cut to size with a hack saw.
  5. Can I enquire where the game dealer is who is paying 35p per pigeon? Depending on the location it could be more appropriate for the guy to get our pigeons (between 400 & 500) every 3-4 months and all frozen. You can e-mail me direct on andrew.mahon@accanet.com if you prefer. Many thanks in advance.
  6. I have always retained my certificates, right up to expiry. The last scenario went like this, I moved house and had a visit to check out the new security arrangements, all kit was stored at another address (approved) but on arranging the visit the F.O. asked for the guns to be present, so that the serial numbers may be checked with the existing (old address) certificate. No problem there, so I picked up the guns. The visit was ok, and the serial number check took place, the F.O. then went to put my old certificate in his bag! To which I stated "I am shooting at the weekend, how will I buy cartridges?" He looked puzzled and stated that I probably wouldn't be able to, without a certificate - and promptly returned the old certificate. My view (which is based on common sense, rather than any legal position) is that you have paid for the term of the certificate (5 years), and not 4 years 11 months - so it is your property - hang on to it! I would never want to be deprived of shooting - or be out with the uneasy feeling mentioned earlier because of police admin - not for a single day. If the cert has expired, that would be a different matter entirely.
