The book says best one month either side of christmas. others say cut em when you see em cos someone else will have them. I'm going to cut a few this week, but like maliserow says they're getting heavier so these will be the last ones.

I've got an old Baikal 16 bore that I bought for my son when he was 14. However he's grown up and lost interest. Anyway I could do with extending the stock by about 2 inches but dont want to spend on a gunsmith as the gun only cost 80 quid. I had a look on youtube but cant find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions for a DIY solution?

Welcome to Llangollen Billy -
Once had the privilege of watching an osprey hunting o the river Tay when I was fishing for salmon. Saw deer moving through the wood at the side of the river same day. Next day watched a pine marten swim the river. Even caught a salmon that week. Best week out ever

Thanks for the info chaps. I am not looking or expecting to get any land of my own. Really estate rifle/ cull is all i would expect to see how i get on with it. I wouldn't dream of trying to stalk in my own right until experienced enough and confident in my own abilities; DSC1 an essential for this. I'm in North East Wales and there are no deer within an hour of me (some fallow in Abergele/st Asaph areas). Thanks again
