  1. Floyd's Wish You Were Here has to be up there, such meaningfull and powerfull lyrics.
  2. Unfortunately my grandad passed away recently, who was a keen shooter and I have aquired some antique guns of his. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or can tell me anything about the gun manufacturer, "T. Daintith Liverpool." The gun is an old hammer action side by side shotgun with damascus barrels its a beautiful looking gun and the only stamping on it is the above. Ive searched the internet and dont seem to be able to find much at all, while he was still alive he also tried to find more out about the gun however couldnt find anything in Gun manufacturer directories matching "T. Daintith Liverpool". Any information would be highly appreciated thanks
  3. Thanks for the advice MM, I shall take your advice on board , What type of shooting do you do on your permissions ?
  4. Ive had the same problem. I'm from Hoylake had my SGC for two years now and can find absolutely no land to shoot on, I even offered one farmer some help on his land just so i could shoot some wood pigeon that permanently terrorise his crops, still the answer was a no. Noth Wales shooting school is slightly too far to get to on a regular basis and Im getting rather fed up!
  5. BMI is a load of tosh according to the body mass index the whole england rugby team are obese and clinically obese.
  6. Well good luck with taming the beast haha. You should have offered him some cheese to go with his freshly fermented wine, however i'm sure it will be mulled wine now by the sounds of it. If he is a smoker the next shift you are on take his packet and if you have the time remove the tobacco from all off the ciggies and fill the shafts with match heads then put about a pinch of tobacco back in the end. Stand well back and wait for him to come back in eyebrowless.
  7. Oh right haha should be interesting to see his face then! One time I was night fishing there was a deaf angler a few pegs up and another person on the other side of the pond decided to take the vibrating ear piece out of his ear so he wouldn't wake up if there was a bite, took his rod off the rest and cast it over to by his bivvie he then turned the volume right up to screaming loud and retreated back to his bivvie. Well one tug of the line had the whole pond in up roar screaming at this poor deaf feller but of course he was still asleep and didn't hear a thing. Admittedly it had me in stiches just to see everyone going crazy!
  8. Hahaha love the grapes in shoes idea what u should do is when he falls asleep while ur driving as he is waking up keep the eye that he cannot see open but the onefacing him closed slouch in the seat and pretend to be asleep. For a few seconds he will **** himself. What kind of work are you in security or something I couldn't quite grasp it from the last thread.
  9. Slap your mate from behind untill he wakes up then hide when he does, snigger while he fumbles around trying to work out where he is and what's going on perfect for a little laugh for about 2 seconds!
  10. I fitted mine myself without any help and I'm 15, it's really easy as said above just make sure it's a solid wall and not plaster board. If I can do it surely you can!
  11. At ur local clay ground ask if you can try a 12b that you would consider getting for him, if he can handle 50+ birds he will be fine. The thing to remember is that he will quickly get used to the weight and feel of the gun if he shoots regularly. I have always found the idea of a nice 20b very attractive but due to the general expense I would stick with a 28" 12b with 24g carts, if the worst came to the worst you could always sell it on without losing too much money.
  12. The problem is that no matter where we are in the world there will always be bad apples that ruin it for all us, not to mention stealing, fraud comiting, clueless polititions. Just look to the hand gun ban I mean that had a real life changing effect........ there are more illegal handguns on the streets than ever before. Sometimes I really doubt how much control, in a democratic state that we the people have any influnce what so ever. I mean sure we can vote but look what has happened there are more rules on firearms than you can shake a stick at yet how many of these offences were comited by liscenced firearms and shotgun cert holders.
  13. I personally do not think that there is anything wrong with them, aslong as there used safely and wouldnt mind having ago myself i just started this thread because i am pritty new to the whole shooting scene and did not realise you could own a gun with a calibre of that size.
  14. holy hell how long is the range from john o groats to lands end
